Due to a battle in the courts, for a pork pie to have the term "Melton Mowbray" applied it must be made within a certain distance from the town situated in Leicestershire. Seems fair to me!

The meat inside the pie should be whitish/grey. If it's pink it may have added food colouring, or some other kind of treatment.
