We often get asked "What's the difference between sine wave and modified wave inverters?" The short answer is not a lot that most users of inverters would notice. The longer answer is that if you're using your inverter to run thousands of pounds worth of ultra sensitive equipment use a pure sine wave inverter to ensure that it runs properly. If, however, like most inverter users your going to run a kettle, hair dryer, microwave oven, TV, or a power tool while away from a electrical hook-up supply then a modified wave inverter will be more than adequate.
