Gel/SLA and AGM batteries are also used on golf trolleys, karts and buggies. We stock golf batteries for popular golf trolleys such as the Hill Billy and Power Kaddy. For bigger ride-on karts if we don't have the correct battery in stock we can get it for you in a few days. Due to the expense and the specialist nature of GEL, SLA and AGM batteries for caravan, motorhome, canal/narrow boat, motorboat, motor cruiser, yachts etc. starting and auxiliary/leisure battery banks we would recommend sticking to wet cell deep cycle batteries (see our XEL and Exide ranges) where possible unless the non-spillable aspect of the GEL, SLA or AGM range is crucial, or where the batteries are not easily accessible and thus periodic maintenance cannot be carried out. GEL, SLA and AGM batteries are ideally suited to renewable energy applications.

These types of battery require a special type of battery charger designed specifically for GEL, AGM or SLA batteries. Using the wrong type of charger will shorten the life, ruin the battery and invalidate any outstanding warranty.

Assuming your leisure vehicle, boat or other marine application is fitted with the correct battery charger/charging system, then GEL, SLA and AGM batteries will provide more cycles, but this must be weighed up against the initial cost.
