Features: microprocessor controlled - automatic 3 stage charging (constant current, constant volatge and float mode) - charge status LED indicators - short curcuit protection - automatic cut in and drop out - isolates different voltage systems - output controlled to maximum current - will fully charge starter battery/batteries before switching to fast charge the auxiliary battery bank - can be left permanently connected - neat and compact design.

Advantages: easy to install as the unit only needs to be connected to the battery/batteries terminals (no connection to the alternator necessary) - will ensure the starter battery/batteries are fully charged first before switching to fast charge the auxiliary/leisure battery/batteries - available in 4 different variations 12 volt to 12 volt, 12 volt to 24 volt, 24 volt to 24 volt & 24 volt to 12 volt.

Why would I need a battery to battery charger?

Battery to battery chargers/splitters are ideal for motorhomes, RV's, trucks and marine applications where there is heavy reliance on the auxiliary/leisure battery system (i.e. wild camping, sleeper cab etc.). The idea of these units is to fast charge your auxiliary/leisure battery and keep 12v/24v auxiliary/leisure battery bank at optimum performance when driving between locations or campsites.

Battery to battery chargers are far more efficient than conventional split charge relays, not only because the battery charging time drastically reduced, but also a split charge relay will cause the alternator charge to reduce as it senses rising battery voltage (commonly referred to as 'surface charge') thus potentially leaving the auxiliary/leisure battery in a partially discharged state.
